Desert Harvest Natural (lubricant)
Desert Harvest Lube is a brand hailing from Denver, CO, and drew my eye at the 2014 AVN convention because of its claim to be natural and organic. I’m an educated hippie with a women’s studies degree, so a female representative touting chemical-free vagina goop was a good fit. I’m a fairly clumsy gal, however, and occasionally when I try to conform to beauty standards it leads to injury. Usually I’m only clumsy in the ocular department, but one time I singed the side of my face with a hair straightener in a pretty noticeable area. As I realized that the smell was my own skin burning, I looked around for any item that might sooth my injury, and found – you guessed it – lube. Thankfully Desert Harvest is made mostly from Aloe! I dabbed it on my face and went back to conforming to beauty standards. It eased the burning, and kept my injury moisturized until it had a chance to heal a little.
I have actually used this product as recommended, and found it to be pleasantly useful. It’s not as ‘slick’ as other lubes because it’s water based instead of silicone or glycerin, so it might require more than one application as ‘things’ progress ;). I found that it lasted longer during a solo application, and I attributed that to the fact that I wasn’t dealing with as much friction with my toy as I did with my partner. Just sayin’ – results may vary when different kinds of things rub together ;).
If you’re a person with sensitive skin in the market for a natural and organic product, try this lube. Desert Harvest comes in a tiny bottle with a screw-on cap (not my favorite) or a larger size pump bottle (totally easier to deal with;).
